What is a breast lift?
A breast lift or mastopexy is an operation that restores breasts to their ideal anatomic position. Due to time, aging, genetics, breastfeeding, weight changes, pregnancy, or any number of other factors, some women have breasts that are droopier than they would like.
For breasts that sag, droop, or hang below the level you want them to be, a breast lift is a great operation. With a quick recovery time of under a week in most patients, you can experience rejuvenated and more beautiful breasts, without the use of implants. (In select cases, it is also possible to add breast implants, if desired.) With the short-scar "lollipop" technique, scars fade after a year and are often barely noticeable.

A breast lift has other ancillary benefits as well:
- It can correct asymmetry between your breasts.
- It can make large areolae smaller and more aesthetic.
- It can make the breasts rounder and more "perky."
- It can improve cleavage.
- It can make your breasts look attractive even without a bra.
If you are interested in a breast lift, you may require a pre-operative mammogram if you are over 40 years old, or if you have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer. For additional information or to schedule an appointment, please call Dr. Devgan's office at (212) 452-2400.
