As a plastic surgeon and a mother, I am sometimes faced with unusual circumstances. Recently, a very adorable (yet quite picky) 19 month old referred me a VIP patient for a reconstructive rhinoplasty.

In all seriousness, rhinoplasty is one of the most common-- and most amazingly transformative-- plastic surgical operations. In 2012 alone, over 143,000 rhinoplasties were performed in the United States. Not only can functional rhinoplasty improve the way a person breathes, but a cosmetic "nose job" can greatly improve facial balance.
When done right, a rhinoplasty can make you look more refined and attractive, bringing out the definition of your eyes, cheekbones, mouth, and jawline.
