Refinement of previous plastic surgery (revision plastic surgery)

Some of the greatest challenges in plastic surgery come from correcting the results of previous procedures done by other doctors that have left a patient with a less than satisfactory result.

In these situations, I make every effort to fully understand why the patient is not satisfied, to review the records and operative notes of previous surgeries, and to make a coherent and goal-oriented plan for moving forward.

I have performed revision operations from the head to the toe, on patients who have had unsatisfactory eyelid surgery, facelifts, necklifts, rhinoplasties, breast augmentations, breast lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, and labiaplasties-- among other operations.

While revision surgery is often more complicated due to additional scarring and altered tissue planes, the results can be very gratifying when I am able to help a concerned individual achieve his or her goals.

Breast lift (mastopexy) to restore the breasts to a perky position

Many women visit my New York City private practice with concerns related to their breasts. One frequent cause for concern is breasts that are droopy, deflated, or sagging below their ideal position.

This can occur due to genetics, tissue quality, breast feeding, weight fluctuations, and aging.

My approach to helping women in this situation is to perform a breast lift operation (also called a mastopexy). My goals are to:

  • improve symmetry
  • elevate nipple position
  • add volume to the upper poles of the breasts
  • add fullness to the cleavage
  • harmonize the aesthetics of the breasts

I can accomplish this through a variety of techniques, including peri-areolar breast lift (scar around the nipples only), lollipop breast lift (scar around the nipples and extending down vertically), and Wise pattern breast lift (anchor-shaped scar). Patient satisfaction in my practice is very high, and I take great care to ensure high-quality results and compassionate care for all of my patients.

If you are interested in a breast lift and would like to discuss your concerns with me in more detail, I invite you to call my office at 212-452-2400 or email office@LaraDevganMD.com.

Tip Rhinoplasty to refine a bulbous or boxy nasal tip

Many patients like the overall size and shape of their noses, but desire some additional subtle refinement of the nasal tip.

The tip of the nose is an aesthetically important anatomic area for several reasons:

  • It has more topographical prominence than any other part of the nose (i.e. it sticks out the most)
  • It reflects light in a visually arresting manner
  • It can create an impression of refinement when well-proportioned or coarseness when not

If the tip of the nose is boxy, bulbous, or overly large, a tip rhinoplasty can be an effective operation to subtly improve the proportions of the face. Using hidden incisions, I am able to make the nose appear more harmonious and attractive, without making you look like a completely different person.

Most patients take 1 week off of work or school to recover. Results are immediately apparent, but they take up to one year to fully materialize, as the nose can retain a tiny bit of swelling and fluid over a prolonged period of time. Bruising is not common after tip rhinoplasty, but any small bruises or areas of discoloration can be covered by makeup after 2-3 days.

If you are interested in seeing me for nose surgery (nose job), rhinoplasty, or tip rhinoplasty, please email office@LaraDevganMD.com or call 212-452-2400.
