Botox- the revolutionary protein used for everything from reducing winkles to treating migraines, is one of the most important products in a plastic surgeons arsenal.
Dr. Devgan recently sat down with Women’s Running to discuss all things Botox, health, and staying youthful. “Maintaining good cardiovascular fitness and an active lifestyle that includes running is probably one of the best things you can do, not only for your health, but also for your physical facial beauty.”
Dr. Devgan recommends starting botox sooner rather than later in order to reduce fine lines over time; but always suggests checking with your physician before starting any new treatment. For runners- Dr.Devgan suggests touching up their treatments more often than a less active patient.
“Somebody who has very strong muscles or who has a very fast metabolic rate might degrade the proteins in Botox and Botox analogs a little bit faster.” Being a runner herself, Dr.Devgan knows a thing or two on the effects running has on ageing- but says that the impact running has on Botox treatment is minimal.
