Actual patient of Dr. Devgan, before and immediately after laceration repair
Anytime you get a cut (whether from an accident or a surgery), there is always going to be a scar. My job as a plastic surgeon is to minimize the appearance of that scar and use the best surgical techniques to camouflage and hide that scar so that it does not detract from your overall appearance.
Frequently, patients will call me when they have had an accident and have a cut, burn, laceration, or open wound that requires stitches, in order to have me help them achieve the best cosmetic outcome. I will either meet the patient in the Emergency Room or in my office to help treat them in a fast, safe, efficient, and cosmetically beautiful manner.
Two of my recent patients are pictured above. The top image is a Vogue covermodel, before and immediately after laceration repair. The bottom image is a male patient visiting from overseas, before and immediately after laceration repair. Even in the early stages of their stitches, both of them demonstrate the qualities of a good wound closure:
- correctly reapproximated anatomic borders
- thin, finely spaced sutures
- respect of tissues and gentle tissue handling
- excellent cosmesis
If you have an injury and are interested in getting the best cosmetic result, please don't hesitate to contact my office at any time, even at night or on the weekends. I will always make every effort to take care of you.
