Sold out on Sephora: Platinum Lip Plump SPF 30

Stylecaster, your online source for the latest fashion trend reports, shopping guides and celebrity style news, highlights Dr. Devgan’s Platinum Lip Plump SPF 30. Elizabeth Denton, Stylecaster contributor, has been a fan of lip plump since high school, however when one flew off the shelves of Sephora instantaneously, she knew she had to try it for herself.

What makes the Platinum Lip Plump different from leading lip plumps? The formula is all-natural and the plumping agent is niacin (vitamin B3). Instead of using harsh ingredients like cinnamon, menthol, or capsacin that commonly irritate one’s lips, niacin gently vasodilates the lip tissue, turning them a pink shade and increasing the size. Not only does the Platinum Lip Plump plump, hydrate, and gloss one’s lips, but the new version for summer—Platinum Lip Plump SPF 30— also protects your lips as well.

To use this product, apply a generous coat to the lips, making sure to stay inside the lip line. It causes a temporary mild tingling sensation to the lips. If it comes in contact with the skin, it will cause a harmless mild flushing (due to the niacin); you may wipe the product clean with water. Elizabeth has longed for lip filler since using the Platinum Lip Plump, but will continue to apply the gloss whenever she wants “a little boost.” You can purchase the Platinum Lip Plump SPF 30 here. Forbes interviews Dr. Devgan on how she is changing the world of beauty post COVID-19

With the recent spread of COVID-19, the world of elective cosmetic procedures has changed drastically. Forbes interviewed Dr. Devgan, New York City-based board-certified plastic surgeon, about how COVID-19 has impacted her, her practice, her patients, and her skincare line. Although it has been a challenging period, it has only allowed for growth.

Even though Dr. Devgan’s medical office was closed during the peak of COVID-19, she still found ways to pivot, adapt, and grow. While her kids were learning online and employees working from home, Dr. Devgan was able to focus on other details she typically does not have as much time for. Not to mention, donate tens of thousands of dollars of PPE to hospitals and healthcare workers, list her ventilators, and volunteer to see emergency facial trauma cases. During this time in quarantine, Dr. Devgan had time to reflect and questioned: “What does beauty mean in a post-Covid world? How can we make something that has often been dismissed as frivolous and superficial into something that adds to the quality and fabric of our lives?” Dr. Devgan believes the answer to these questions is ultimately that beauty is confidence. “Pretty skin and long eyelashes are not about how your face looks. They are about how you feel about yourself, and how you radiate that confidence into greater productivity in the world around you.”

Going off of this, since Dr. Devgan’s medical office was closed, allowing for her to focus on her luxury medical-grade skincare line, Dr. Lara Devgan Scientific Beauty. “With everyone on home quarantine, being forced to reckon with their botox wearing off and their unflattering zoom angles, the interest in medical-grade skin care has grown measurably.” It came to our surprise that skincare sales grew 500% since quarantine, and that is because people are using this time to take care of themselves, avoid makeup, and use products that will transform their skin. Not to mention, Dr. Devgan is offering personalized skincare consultations via DM and email. If you are interested in having Dr. Devgan determine which products would benefit you most, please email Beauty@LaraDevganMD.com or DM @DrLaraDevgan photos of your skin and your main concerns.

In the end, “safety and health are always paramount. Beauty and elective procedures will always come second, and only to the extent that we can guarantee health and safety first.” That being said, now that Dr. Devgan’s medical office is now open, there are many more health and safety precautions that are made prior to coming in for an appointment. As for the face of beauty post COVID-19, Dr. Devgan predicts that a more natural approach to plastic surgery will rise. If you are interested in making an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Devgan, please email Office@LaraDevganMD.com or call (212)-452-2400. To read the full article, click here.

VOGUE India interviews Dr. Devgan on how to treat hyperpigmentation on Indian Skin

Dr. Devgan was recently interviewed by Vogue India to discuss the causes, treatments, and prevention tips for hyperpigmentation. Dr. Devgan is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of the luxury medical-grade skincare line, Dr. Lara Devgan Scientific Beauty, so her expertise on the subject is superior.

Hyperpigmentation Collection

Hyperpigmentation is caused by various factors, like sun exposure, trauma, and scarring, and is a main skin concern for Indians living in the tropics. Hyperpigmentation appears on the skin in the form of “freckles, age spots, brown or beige spots, or even a confluence of patches of dark colours on the skin.” According to Dr. Devgan, “medium, olive and darker skin tones can often experience more hyperpigmentation because of a tendency of the skin to tan in response to noxious stimuli.” Ways in which you can treat hyperpigmentation “range from at-home and minimally invasive to extensive in-office procedures”, like lasers, chemical peels, and microinfusion microneedling. For a less invasive approach, Dr. Devgan recommends “topical products including Vitamin C serum, retinol, bakuchiol, hyaluronic, peptides, and zinc- or titanium- based SPF.” If your skin requires something more intense, in-office treatments are a great option. In the end, the most important step anyone can take to prevent hyperpigmentation is applying sunscreen on a daily basis.

If your skin is experiencing hyperpigmentation, you should look into the Hyperpigmentation Collection. This Scientific Beauty Collection includes the Retinoid Glow Serum, Vitamin C+B+E Ferulic Serum, Hyaluronic Serum, SPF 44 BB Cream, and Microdermabrasion Scrub. When used together, these five products will help fade hyperpigmentation, smooth and soften the texture of your skin, and protect your skin from the sun. If you have any questions about what products are right for you and your skin concerns, email Beauty@LaraDevganMD.com. If you would like to schedule an appointment for any minimally-invasive skin treatments, email Office@LaraDevganMD.com, or call (212)-452-2400. For the full article, click here.

Allure Magazine interviews Dr. Devgan on her thoughts about “How Cosmetic Doctors Are Approaching Injectables in a World That Calls for Masks”

Allure Magazine consults with Dr. Devgan, New York City-based board-certified plastic surgeon, on her thoughts about how the world of cosmetic surgery and injections will be different after the spread of COVID-19. What many people do not realize is how plastic surgeon’s protocols will now be drastically different than how they were before.

So long are the days where patients at any office are able to enter the office freely and wait among other patients until their name was called. Protocols these days are much more than just a confirmation call. In order to be cleared to come in for an appointment, patients must now arrive at the time of the appointment to avoid time spent in the waiting room, sign all consents and documentation prior to arrival, as well as use hand sanitizer and wear a protective mask at all times. While some believe that injecting in only the upper one third of the face, the area not covered by a mask, is not beneficial, Dr. Devgan believes that there is “value in addressing the face one area at a time.” That being said, this is not stopping Dr. Devgan from performing injectable filler on any area of the face. Her approach? Dr. Devgan is considering having patients wear a large face shield so that she can comfortably inject on any part of the face without risking contamination. Even so, whether you are being injected on your forehead or your nose, any practitioner is still standing the same distance away.

The most important thing to remember is that while plastic surgeons are now open and available to see patients, your health is the most important factor and should be taken into consideration before making an appointment, especially if you are at high risk. If you are healthy and would like some more information about making an appointment, please email Office@LaraDevganMD.com or call (212)-452-2400 so we can help set one up.
