Chemical peels for improved complexion

This lovely patient was unhappy with her complexion after years of sun damage, brown spots, freckles, and melasma. I treated her with a deep chemical peel to achieve this significant improvement in her evenness and skin tone.

A deep chemical peel has about a week of downtime. It is an excellent treatment to combine with a surgical procedure, when you might be taking time off of work anyway. If you don't have the downtime to be out of the public eye for a week, I also perform moderate-depth mixed-modality chemical peels that have minimal to no visible peeling and no downtime.

Deep chemical peels may not be suited for all skin types and are safest for fair-skinned patients with sun damage. They are excellent for lightening dark spots and getting rid of fine lines.

Submental liposuction is one of my favorite surgical techniques for addressing a double chin, or excess fat tissue under the chin. In a 20 minute procedure performed under local anesthesia alone, your profile can be completely revamped, and your face can be made to look significantly thinner and younger.

Submental liposuction is a midpoint between Kybella (the fat melting injection deoxycholic acid) and a full surgical necklift. It is an excellent option for those desiring an improved neck with minimal downtime and fast recovery.

Lip augmentation is an art as well as a science. It requires a precise understanding of anatomic relationships, ideal aesthetic ratios, and beautiful proportions.

When performing lip augmentation, one of the most important concerns is appropriately analyzing the lips, and carefully addressing their unique characteristics. These examples demonstrate a bit of my thought process when carrying out a natural looking lip filler procedure.

Injectable fillers can subtly but definitively improve facial balance. Even though they only address one discreet part of the face, the millimeter changes that they make to certain anatomic areas can make the whole face appear more beautiful, as seen in three of my recent patients, pictured above.

Fillers are a powerful adjunct to-- and sometimes replacement for-- surgery. I love them because they are immediately apparent, and when done well, very natural and beautiful. If you are curious about fillers, I encourage you to make a consultation appointment with someone who does a lot of them and can appreciate their nuances.
