This beautiful patient's abdomen showed the signs of childbearing, surgery, weight fluctuations, and age that affect many of us-- loose skin, stubborn fat, undesirable scars, and stretch marks. In each of these views, the photo on the right was taken just 10 days after I performed her abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). She already looks amazing at this early stage. She will look even better as her swelling and scars mature over the course of a year.

Art in the operating room

Many of my patients know that I have a background as a painter, sculptor, and photographer. Not only do I try to create beauty for my patients, but I also am drawn to seeing the beauty in the world around me. Breast augmentation: gummy bear or silicone implants?

I perform all types of breast augmentation in my New York City private practice, using implants that are silicone, saline, structured, and gummy bear or form stable. It is absolutely possible to get excellent results with all types of implants.

One question I am frequently asked is: what do you like better, gummy bear or silicone implants?

While gummy bear implants have gotten a lot of publicity and have a very cute name, I find that they feel a bit hard to the touch and the experience of having them is less natural for most patients. For this reason, most of my patients prefer form stable silicone implants.

Regardless of the type of implants you choose, my focus is on making them as beautiful and natural-looking as possible.
