Surgery or injectables for tired eyes?

Dark circles, under-eye hollows, uffy bags, and a dependence on concealer or heavy pancake makeup are concerns that weigh on many patients. All of these issues can make a person look more tired than he or she feels.

There are two major approaches to addressing a tired under-eye appearance: surgery and tear trough augmentation.

The surgery in question is referred to as lower eyelid blepharoplasty with autologous fat transfer or fat transposition. This is the gold standard approach and most definitive way to correct aging in the lower eyelid area. With this approach, Dr. Devgan reduces puffy fat pads, removes excess skin, and softens undereye hollows with a patient's own fat tissue. This creates a smooth, rejuvenated lid-cheek junction, with hidden incisions and almost invisible scars. Lower eyelid surgery takes about 40 minutes, has a week of associated downtime, and lasts forever.

A second approach to under-eye aging is using injectable filler to camouflage areas of concern. With this technique, the skin is thoroughly numbed and sterilized, and Dr. Devgan performs meticulous micro-droplet injection of hyaluronic filler to soften hollows, brighten dark circles, and make the eyes look more youthful and alert. This technique takes a few minutes, has no associated downtime, and lasts for 1-2 years.

Amazing Anti-Aging Effects of Platinum Hyaluronic Serum

Yesterday during Dr. Devgan’s microneedling with platelet rich plasma on a patient {https://goo.gl/bZwUuX}, there were a variety of her own skincare line products utilized as part of the treatment process. Within the office, Dr. Devgan’s scientifically formulated skincare line is regularly used to further amazing patient results. The product utilized at the end of the microneedling with platelet rich plasma procedure was the incredible Platinum Hyaluronic Serum.

Platinum Hyaluronic Serum, a product which contains Hyaluronic Acid, is utilized in a variety of anti-aging products and dermal fillers, such as Juvederm.  Hyaluronic Acid helps resurface the skin, to create a more youthful complexion as well as to make the skin healthier overall.

Platinum Hyaluronic Serum is more than just Hyaluronic Acid. It was formulated by Dr. Devgan to utilize ample ingredients alongside Hyaluronic Acid, including niacinamide, lysine, proline, and copper. These ingredients target molecular energy production, which then reactivates creation of particular elastin and collagen. The two byproducts are what gives skin the rejuvenated “healthy glow” and suppleness.

Crafting Clear Complexions: Dr. Devgan performs Microneedling+PRP

A majority of people would love to have a flawless complexion. A foolproof way to get the skin you have always seen on your favorite celebrities is microneedling with PRP (“vampire facial”). Microneedling with PRP is a fairly simple process, with minimal downtime.

Patients are first numbed where the microneedling is needed. Typically, the area of concern for patients is on the face and neck. Dr. Devgan will then draw blood into a tube from the patient’s antecubital vein. The tube is centrifuged to separate the platelet rich plasma (PRP) from the red blood cells. The platelet rich plasma is a translucent yellow with excellent healing properties, thus the term “liquid gold”.

Dr. Devgan first utilizes a combination of her skincare line products to prep the skin after the PRP has been harvested. Following the prepping of the skin with her products, Dr. Devgan proceeds to utilize a DermaPen, an oscillating multi-needle tool, to start the treatment. After going over the skin one time, Dr. Devgan places the collected PRP on the necessary areas. She gently rubs the PRP into the skin before continuing the microneedling process.

After the treatment is finished, redness is common. The degree of redness, commonly asked by patients as “How red will I be after?”, depends on the individual. People with more sensitive skin or red hair, often have a greater degree of redness at end of treatment. The visual signs of redness should dissipate in 48 to72 hours. Dr. Devgan insists on going makeup free during that time to allow the skin to regenerate.

Patients are typically amazed by their results even after one treatment using microneedling with PRP; however, there are cases in which multiple treatments are necessary depending on the grade of skin issues, expectations of the patient, and skin type.

Dr. Devgan Received Top Aesthetic Doctor in the nation by Aesthetic Everything

Yesterday evening the Aesthetic Everything Awards 2017 were announced. Dr. Lara Devgan was the recipient of two Diamond Crystal Awards. She was a winner in the Top Aesthetic Doctor category and Top Plastic Surgeons East Coast. Dr. Devgan was honored to receive the awards as many highly regarded physicians in board-certified plastic surgery and other specialties submit entries, with evidence, each year to compete.

The committee selects the winners of Diamond Crystal Awards in nearly forty categories. The highest honor is to be named to the Top Aesthetic Doctor list, which is comprised of fifty physicians in a range of specialties. The award is based on submissions to a committee who select the winners after careful consideration; then, proceeds to rank the recipients in numerical order.

The second award Dr. Devgan received was in the Diamond Crystal Award category of Top Plastic Surgeons East Coast. The Top Plastic Surgeon category is sub-categorized into best plastic surgeons based on region (East, West, and Middle America). Each subcategory consists of ten doctors who, by year, are considered to have the best overall patient results in both body and facial plastic surgery. This particular category is a stirring win because of its specificity to Dr. Devgan’s specialty.
