Drinking too much alcohol is not pretty

The Scottish government is doing its best to curb heavy alcohol consumption by encouraging women to "Drop a Glass Size in 2013." As part of this campaign, the Scots rolled out a new mobile app called the "Drinking Mirror"-- which illustrates how alcohol wreaks havoc on your complexion, weight, skin tone, hair luster, and overall physical beauty.

"Is alcohol ageing you?" the ad campaign asks. "Deeper wrinkles, red cheeks and weight gain... some of the visible effects of regularly drinking too much are not a pretty sight."

Indeed, given the fact that alcohol-related deaths have doubled and liver disease deaths have tripled in Scottish women aged 30-44 over the last two and a half decades, this app comes at a good time.
