Artist Tom Hussey has introduced a beautiful photography project about youth and aging. This collection, entitled "Reflections," depict older people looking at their reflections in a mirror-- only to see younger versions of themselves.
A touching and thought-provoking series, Hussey alludes to themes of nostalgia and fading beauty. Almost everyone has at some point thought about turning back the clock, via daydreaming, reminiscence, or even plastic surgery.
Facial aging follows a predictable pattern in most people:
the shape of the face becomes less like an ice-cream cone and more like a square
the full, round cheeks descend, leaving the mid-face hollow
jowls and neck lines develop, detracting from the geometric beauty of the neck
and the complexion's quality becomes more spotted and uneven
Take a look at Hussey's photographs, and take a stroll down memory lane.
